7 Realities That Will Unfold While Traveling with Your Partner

If you are planning your first vacation together as a couple, you are in for a treat. Not only will you enjoy the vacation, you will learn some very cool things about your partner and the nature of vacations in general.

Traveling with the person you love is always more fun than traveling alone or in a group you don’t care so much for.  Here are some fun and some not so fun things that will unravel during your first trip with your partner:

You Are Good Enough as You Are

Most people have this twisted notion that they are obligated to become someone of better character, looks, or status to be worthy of all the love from their partner. This isn’t true.

This self-limiting mindset can be easily cured by spending a lot of uninterrupted quality time with your lover. You will quickly realize that you don’t have to be better or cooler or more beautiful. Your partner loves you for you.

All the good and bad is what constitutes you and that is what makes you unique from the rest of the people in the dating pool. You have a license to be comfortable in your own skin. You are good enough.

Everyone Has Weird Bathroom Habits

People have an irrational self-consciousness about their bathroom habits. In fact, many people will not use the bathroom for a long time if they are in a new relationship and their new lover is around.

When you go on a vacation together, you have no choice but to let loose and be comfortable around each other. There is nothing strange about your bathroom habits. If you spend enough time with your significant other, you’ll realize that they aren’t angels either as far as bathroom habits are concerned. There is no need to be overly self-conscious.

Getting Professional Help Is Actually a Good Idea

We tend to think of ourselves as experts at everything. Even in areas we have no business dabbling in. If you book a vacation with the help of a professional travel planner or agent, you’ll realize that the vacation they helped you put together will be far better than what you would have put together yourself.

An all-inclusive resort for couples, for instance, knows what it takes to put together a great vacation for lovers in their part of the world. These resorts have dealt with enough couples to know what works for different kinds of people. If you decide to book the trip yourself be sure you aren’t booking your trip at a family-friendly resort. Your romantic getaway will turn into a lot of loud families with young children.

When you realize that asking for professional help will usually yield a better result than doing something yourself, you will be more open to seeking them out in other areas as well.

You May Need Some Time Off from Your Partner

When you are madly in love with one another but you never get to spend a lot of time together, all you want to do is find time to be around your partner. If someone tells you that there are instances where you can spend so much time around each other that you will need to take some time off to enjoy some alone time, the argument won’t register at all.

Wait till you vacation with your partner. While you will definitely enjoy being around your partner around the clock, you will also appreciate–and even beg for–a few hours alone where you can do whatever you please.

You Will Learn Your Partner’s Philosophy on Personal Finance

Nothing gives people greater reason to spend money such as a vacation with plenty of excursions and lots of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. When the inhibitions to spend money are gone and all expenditures can be rationalized, that’s when you will know your partner’s real philosophy on money. Some people can be very responsible with their money even when the temptations to spend are excruciatingly strong. Others will let go and spend as if there’s no tomorrow.

Your Phone Is Limiting Your Relationship

Until you fully unplug from technology and become fully present, you will not realize how much digital distractions are robbing you of the good life. An active vacation where you put down your devices and do fun things with your partner will reveal to you how much fun your need to remain connected has cost you.

There’s a lot of fun to be had away from the TV and phone screen. If you take the lesson to heart, you may actually put the phone down and be fully present for your significant other.

Your Relationship Is Worth Making Better

After going on a vacation with your lover and spending a lot of quality time together, you will relive the reasons why you love them so much and be motivated to make your relationship better.

It is worth it and both of you will be glad for trying. It is actually very easy to make a relationship better if both partners are committed to the process.
