Short Break Ideas For History Buffs

March 30, 2019 by admin

I have always found that the best way to travel is to combine it with something which you love, that way you can  really enhance your travel experience. Today then we are going to check out some top travel ideas for you history buffs out there, the architecture lovers, the royalists, the geologists and those who love nothing more than walking in the footsteps of greatness. If you fall into one of these categories then you are going to love some of these holiday ideas. Let’s take a look at where you could be taking your next short break.

London

Our very own capital city is quite literally bathed in history and in truth a short break may not offer enough time to even scratch the surface. Nonetheless this is a trip worth doing and London will provide you with a whole host of opportunities to ‘geek out’ over the history which exists here. From Buckingham Palace, the residence of kings and queens throughout the ages to the Tower of London where people were once imprisoned and even executed you can find plenty of modern and ancient history in the city. The National History Museum is here as well which features, among others, an exhibition dedicated to the two World Wars. Even the streets of London are drenched in history and any history buff will really get a kick out of visiting the capital.

Rome

The very heart of the incredible Roman Empire was right here in Rome and although many things have changed since the days of the world’s largest empire, there is still a lot of remnants of those days on display throughout the city. The Colosseum is a representation of that great empire and whilst it has been heavily damaged over the years, its size, scale and detailed architecture can still be seen. History lovers will also enjoy the rich architecture and stunning artwork in the Vatican, as well as the Roman Forum, a place of great importance throughout history and the location of the altar which houses the body of the late, great Julius Cesar. Much of Rome looks similar to how it would have done all those years ago and this is a must for any history fanatic.

Cairo

Egypt may seem as though one of the holidays which requires a lot of time there but if you are smart then you can see a great deal during a 4 day break. The flight to Egypt is just under 5 hours from London and you could be standing in the Valley of Kings in Luxor by lunchtime! To witness the Great Pyramid of Giza, the tomb of some of the most famous Pharaohs that ever lived and to see and feel the artifacts and relics which have existed for over 5000 years ago is an experience which you will never forget. If you love ancient history then Egypt must surely be on your list of places to go, and the great news is that you will be able to see plenty of it during a short break.

If you have a few days off and you love history, why not give these destinations a try!

The Best Travel-Friendly Swimwear

October 15, 2018 by admin

Whether your travels take you to nearby spots close to home or far-flung foreign destinations, one of the most important travel essentials is a great swimsuit. You want something that is lightweight so it’s easy to pack, super comfortable for long days on the water or at the beach, and will look amazing all at the same time. But that perfect swimsuit can seem pretty elusive; you’re typically either stuck with a super comfy suit that isn’t all that flattering or something bombshell yet anything but comfortable. We finally found the best travel-friendly swimwear from the company CoolTanⓇ and their TanThrough swimwear for both men and women. You’ll be able to be comfortable, while looking great and getting the perfect tan all in one.

CoolTan lets you tan right through your swimsuit, making it easier than ever before to get a great, natural glow without having to lug around bulky tanning lotions that leave you sticky and streaky. Plus you won’t have to worry about annoying tan lines anymore because you’ll be getting an even, all-over tan right through your swimsuit. That means you getting the perfect tan can be as easy as walking along the beach, hanging out by the pool, or going boating or swimming.

The secret to CoolTan’s TanThrough swimwear is their Microsol V fabric which is knitted to create millions of tiny pores to let in approximately half the sun’s rays to get you an amazing tan in about the same time as you would with a medium level SPF sunscreen. The porous fabric also lets air and water pass easily through the fabric to keep you cool and comfortable, even on the hottest of days, and wicking moisture to dry up to 3x faster than normal fabric. This is a great bonus for traveling because you won’t have to worry about waiting around for your suit to dry in the hotel bathroom before throwing it back in your bag. Plus, the lightweight fabric means your suit won’t take up a ton of precious packing space in your bag and you can stay nice and comfortable throughout your travels.

CoolTan has a variety of sizes, styles, and patterns to choose from for both men and women all with a Customer Satisfaction Guarantee to ensure you find the perfect suit for you. For women they have everything from monokinis and one-pieces to halter and string bikinis and for men they have a range from racers all the way to board shorts depending on your comfort-level and style preference. CoolTan also knows that it’s not always possible to be hanging around in a swimsuit so has made a line of TanThrough shirts that are just as comfortable while also letting you get a natural tan as you go about your everyday activities or travels.

We are loving CoolTan’s TanThrough swimwear and shirts and would highly recommend checking out their website and getting yourself a shirt and suit to try and see for yourself just how easy it is to get an amazing tan all while being super comfortable and being completely travel-proof!

Use These Tips For A Stress-Free Moving Experience

October 8, 2018 by admin

Your moving day is right around the corner and it feels like crunch time. There are so many things you need to complete. However, by following these simple steps, you can be at ease knowing everything will be in order for your big moving day. The big hurdle is coming, but with a little guidance and goals, you will be ready.

Tips Before Moving Day

Come Up With A Moving Plan

Your moving plan can change daily, and if so, remember to keep your moving company updated with the details. If there are specific stops you want them to make along the way, then let them know ahead of time. Also, make sure they have all of your information. Having your phone numbers and address is important before they arrive at your home.

Make A Comprehensive Schedule For The Day Of The Move

We have all experienced procrastination in our lives and moving day can creep up quick if you focus on too many things. Don’t get overwhelmed. Make hotel reservations now, just in case the trip takes longer than expected. Get your car inspected and purchase a service check-up.

Pack Now!

Yes, this can seem like an obvious task. But packing is time-consuming and sometimes can take much longer than expected. Start with items that are nonessential and rooms that are not visited often. If you need advice on good packing materials, then reach out to your mover. They might give you some good advice.

Get Rid Of The Things You Don’t Need

This part can be very difficult. Because it’s hard to cut ties with objects that have been around for a while. But think of it as a moment of cleansing. The fewer items you pack, the less you will have to unpack. Imagine saving hours on unpacking because you cleaned out the things you didn’t need before you arrived.

How To Save Money While Moving

Moving is very expensive, and no matter how much you research and save, its still going to be pricey. However, there are a few steps you can take to save money on moving.

Some locations will offer to pack your items for you, but to save money, decline and pack the items yourself

Ask family and friends to give you moving boxes if they have some

When packing glass items, use newspapers and magazine versus expensive bubble wrap

Shop around and compare pricing on good moving companies

Reach out to a neighbor and see if they are having a garage sale, donate your items or ask for a flat fee in return

Tips On Hiring A Good Moving Company

There are millions of moves happening every day in the United States and it is important to avoid shoddy practices and scammers. By doing research and hiring quality movers, like North American Van Lines, you can avoid any setbacks during your move. Here are a few tips to get you started:

Make Sure The Moving Company Takes Inventory

A reliable and trustworthy company will make sure to document all of your belongings. This helps them estimate the weight and bulk of the move. A lot of them base their pricing on the weight of the move, so make sure to discuss estimates.

Don’t Pay A Huge Deposit

In some cases, you may have to pay in advance. However, most reputable movers will not ask for a large deposit before arriving. Make sure to pay using a credit or debit card to help protect you from any fraudulent activity. Be advised that the more questions you ask, the better. A good moving company will understand your questions and concerns and answer them willingly.

By following these tips, you can make a long distance move a stress-free experience.

When you arrive at your new place, explore a little. Try to meet your new neighbors and look into local events. Sometimes it will help relax your mind after a long day of work. Moving is not easy. So why not check out your local Memorial Day Parade or walk around a local park to relax and enjoy your new environment.
